   I think that right after making a change of that nature would be a 
good time to make a -stable SNAP.  People could then begin running the 
'new' stable and not have to worry about upgrading the rest of their 
systems.  And, you'd be extending the functionality quite easily to 
people who need it but don't feel like supping or ctm'ing -stable.  
$0.02, of course.
