Hi Ray, Thanks for hanging with me on this but nope. Tried deinstalling ruby-fnmatch and ruby-uri but neither was apparently installed. Did 'make install' for each of them without problems but still get: ========================== felix# ./pkgdb -F /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/pkgtools.rb:9: fnmatch module not found (RuntimeError) from ./pkgdb:35:in `require' from ./pkgdb:35 ========================== I also had a wild notion to install mod_ruby, which bombed with a segmentation fault while working on ruby-rdtool (which I'm posting to comp.lang.ruby) but wonder if there's any chance that the problems are related??? ========================== ===> Patching for ruby-rdtool-0.6.10_1 ===> Applying FreeBSD patches for ruby-rdtool-0.6.10_1 ===> Fixing the #! line of /usr/ports/textproc/ruby-rdtool/work/rdtool-0.6.10/r mi2html.rb /usr/local/bin/ruby -i -pe 'gsub %r"/usr/local\b", "/usr/local"' /usr/ports/text proc/ruby-rdtool/work/rdtool-0.6.10/utils/rdswap.rb ===> Configuring for ruby-rdtool-0.6.10_1 creating Makefile ===> Building for ruby-rdtool-0.6.10_1 racc rd/rdblockparser.ry /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/racc/output.rb:239: [BUG] Segmentation fault ruby 1.6.6 (2001-12-26) [alpha-freebsd4] *** Signal 6 ========================== this ia too much fun. thanks Craig > -----Original Message----- > From: Ray Kohler [mailto:rkohler1@cox.rr.com] > Sent: Friday, January 18, 2002 4:43 PM > To: Craig Burgess; FreeBSD-questions@FreeBSD.ORG > Subject: Re: ruby/portupgrade errors + other stuff > > > On Friday 18 January 2002 06:19 pm, Craig Burgess wrote: > > > > from installing portupgrade: > > ======================= > > ===> portupgrade-20020117 depends on file: > > /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/a > > lpha-freebsd4/fnmatch.so - not found > > ===> Verifying install for > > /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/alpha-freebsd4/fnmatch.so in > > /usr/ports/devel/ruby-fnmatch > > ===> Returning to build of portupgrade-20020117 > > . . . > > ===> portupgrade-20020117 depends on file: > > /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/uri.rb - not found > > ===> Verifying install for > > /usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/uri.rb in > > /usr/ports/net/ruby-uri > > ===> Returning to build of portupgrade-20020117 > > ======================= > > Try installing ruby-fnmatch and ruby-uri ports directly and see > what they do when you try to build them.
