Hi Ray,

Thanks for hanging with me on this but nope. Tried deinstalling
ruby-fnmatch and ruby-uri but neither was apparently installed. Did
'make install' for each of them without problems but still get:
==========================
felix# ./pkgdb -F
/usr/local/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.6/pkgtools.rb:9: fnmatch module not
found (RuntimeError)
        from ./pkgdb:35:in `require'
        from ./pkgdb:35
==========================

I also had a wild notion to install mod_ruby, which bombed with a
segmentation fault while working on ruby-rdtool (which I'm posting to
comp.lang.ruby) but wonder if there's any chance that the problems are
related???

this ia too much fun.

thanks
