Hello, Eric, and thaks.

PAO-19981225 say that your APM version is 1.1, but
the latest version seems recognize it as 1.2 and
CS16_limit had been changed.

Now I understand that apm application which attempt to get
infomation from APM BIOS.

eric> it crashes with the following apm debug output:
eric>
eric> APM ioctl: cmd = 0x40185002

Actually, this number is APMIO_GETINFO_OLD in newer version
of apm stuff. I'd like to know if new APMIO_GETINFO ioctl() will
crash your box as well or not.

Could you try to recompile usr.sbin/apm and
just execute apm (w/o args)? still crash?

and if you are able to recompile xbatt or something which
related apm stuff, could you back them up and
recompile/execute them?
