... and watched CVSup delete his files very quickly, no doubt. :-)

I think I could make "HEAD" a synonym for "." in CVSup without
causing any problems.  Since HEAD has special meaning in CVS, I
doubt that anybody would create a tag with that name.  I will think
about it a little bit more, but my first reaction is that it sounds
OK.
