hi! my nc6220 used to have strange problems with ata disk right after boot-up until i added the following line to /boot/loader.conf. hw.acpi.osname="Windows 2001" try and see if it helps for you. kt p.s. boot with acpi disabled first. > > hi, > > I have a hp nc6230 that has run freebsd in the past.
