The fxp device is PCI. The ISA EtherExpress Pro/10* cards use the ex
driver. I am not sure how it does (or does not) work with the
Pro/100. See 'man 4 ex' for some more info. Possibly do some more web
searching at the site or mail archives to answer your question. It has
come up before, but I cannot recall the answer.
