This seems quite useful, I'd like to add it to ports/Tools/scripts

It would me *very* useful to add functionality to wortk with 
github/gemcutter

Esp in the case where is no release available and you must generate your 
own .gem file and host it somewhere like LOCAL/committer from git vc.
