Are there any ATA or serial-ATA controllers that can address memory
above 4 GB? In other words I'm hoping to avoid bounce-buffers with
large memory configurations.

I believe there are SCSI controllers that can do this but I'd rather
stick to ATA or sATA for cost reasons.

HighPoint has released the RocketRAID 1820, which is a serial-ATA
PCI-X 64-bit 66/100/133 MHz controller with eight sATA ports.
I have no idea if it can address memory above 4 GB not.
