For the current Java effort for sys ad tools, This month issue of the magazine Java Report has an interesting article on a design pattern called Panels -- it allows connecting screens using a state machine. see http://www.sigs.com/jro Here is a great pointer to ACE --- a C++ class library suitable for building servers: http://www.cs.wustl.edu/~schmidt/ACE-netsvcs.html We should be in good shape to support ACE once ELF support is rolled into current.
