Subject: How to check out 2.2.6-RELEASE?

I've just spent a fair amount of time trying to check out
2.2.6-RELEASE. Here's the command:

  cvs co -r 2.2.6-RELEASE src

Nothing significant gets checked out. cvs updates a few housekeeping
files and checks nothing out. I had no problem checking out 2.2.5
with the with the corresponding command.

I did a bit of snooping around in $CVSROOT/CVSROOT and found a file
val-tags, last updated on 22 February. It contained
RELENG_2_2_5_RELEASE, but not RELENG_2_2_6_RELEASE. I added
RELENG_2_2_6_RELEASE, and voilą! I can now check it out.

Question: is this an omission in the CVS update, or should I do
something else to get cvs to understand the new tag?

Greg
