Hi, Saw that your question was mentioned twice, that does not make it a high = priority question ;-)... Perhaps you should read your manual pages for more information {man = devfs}, Also, i thought {unsure} that when you have a lpt port enabled, it get's = detected during boot sequence, and then accordingly devfs makes mountpoints for you. Hope this helped a little, -- Kind regards, Remko Lodder Elvandar.org/DSINet.org www.mostly-harmless.nl Dutch community for helping newcomers on the = hackerscene=20 mrtg.grunn.org Dutch mirror of MRTG -----Oorspronkelijk bericht----- Van: owner-freebsd-questions@freebsd.org [mailto:owner-freebsd-questions@freebsd.org]Namens Stephen Liu Verzonden: maandag 8 maart 2004 12:45 Aan: questions@freebsd.org Onderwerp: MAKEDEV question Hi folks, =20 FreeBSD 5.2 =20 I am now configuring printer and aware that 'MAKEDEV' has been replaced = with=20 'devfs' =20 According to handbook I should run =20 # ./MAKEDEV lpt0 (para port) =20 whether to be replaced with =20 # ./devfs -m lpt0 =20 Kindly advise. =EF=BF=BDTIA =20 B.R. satimis =20 _______________________________________________ freebsd-questions@freebsd.org mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to = "freebsd-questions-unsubscribe@freebsd.org"
