I have the same problem as well, but on systems running FreeBSD 4.4. It hit me
after I upgraded to the Samba 2.2.4-1 port. So, this is obviously a Samba
problem, not a FreeBSD problem.

On the other hand... Anybody got a clue what's with Samba?

[Ducking now to avoid off-topic complaints.]
