I am looking for hints and tips for installing on a fujitsu lifebook. 1) It does not seem to recognize the 2.2.1 CDROM as bootable, although my desktop (clone) does. It does have WIN95 installed now. I exited from that to DOS, and 2) tried to boot freebsd with 'install', but it pretty quickly reset the machine, which rebooted win95. 3) tried to make a boot floppy (same way, exit win95 to dos, use script on cdrom). Floppy got to the BOOT: prompt, but was unable to find a kernel to boot. Hmmmm.... it just occurred to me that the Fujitsu has an IDE CDROM... Maybe i need a different boot floppy? Well, any experiences would be most welcome. I have already "partition magic'ed" the hard-disk, and there is space just waiting for FreeBSD. -mark
