The opinion is valid, but the logic flawed. One could equally well say... static, because 8 character wide proportions well on the typical screen. or... dynamic, because 8 character wide is highly likely to truncate. Principle of least surprise (disturbance?) would also suggest to make the previous established behaviour default, unless a compelling reason exists to have it replaced. -- Adam David <adam@veda.is>
