As you can see, I'm almost on top of our int'l gateway and whilst there's
some moderately interesting multi-path routing going on in/to uni.net, I can
still reach the machine quite reliably .. but there appears to be nothing
running (properly) there to talk to :-( I've seen worse RTTs on my ISDN
link caused by news but it still works,
