I've obtained a copy of 2.2-RELEASE last night (great job, all!), and have been working with it since. Just a moment ago, I noticed that utmp (or something else?) is damaged. # w Ó.3: No such file or directory # who root ttyv0 Mar 18 09:39 Ó.3 r.cris.cDec 31 16:00 r 3 Aug 22 16:51 4 Ó.3ttypOct 24 13:02 (r) Ó.3ttyp is.com:0Dec 31 16:00 (5) # users Ó.3 r root ttyp0 This may have started happening when I began running xterms on this machine, looks like the utmp is blown away. This machine is basically a plain-vanilla FreeBSD 2.2-RELEASE with a rebuilt kernel and a few added packages. (Also, I had some weird problems running xterm's, I was getting an error re: Locale and an Atom error, xterm would not run. I reinstalled the XFree86 dist using /stand/sysinstall and it seemed to fix the problem) Thanks, Rich
