I'm currenty using FreeBSD 4.5-RELEASE-p2, has anyone successfully upgraded IPfilter 3.4.20 to 3.4.25 using the instructions in INST.FreeBSD-4 from the 3.4.25 distribution or any other source?, i.e.,: To build a kernel with the IP filter, follow these seven steps: 1. do "make freebsd4" 2. do "make install-bsd" (probably has to be done as root) 3. run "FreeBSD-4/kinstall" as root 4. build a new kernel 5. install the new kernel 6. If not using DEVFS, create devices for IP Filter as follows: mknod /dev/ipl c 79 0 mknod /dev/ipnat c 79 1 mknod /dev/ipstate c 79 2 mknod /dev/ipauth c 79 3 7. reboot -----Original Message----- From: Geert Houben [mailto:sec@hict.nl] Sent: Saturday, April 06, 2002 2:33 AM To: dill@canada.com; freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: Re: IP Filter on Freebsd 4.5? Hi, I used the documentation on this site and after updating the ipfilter source and kernel source it worked very well. http://www.schlacter.net:8500/public/FreeBSD-STABLE_and_IPFILTER.html Success with it, Geert Houben dill@canada.com wrote: > I know ipfilter is already in 4.5 release, how would I actually use it?
