Hi folks,

I have my own personal taste when it comes to creating diffs to be
applied to the local source tree after a CVSup. Since patch can skip
cruft at the beginning of a diff, I like to include in the file some
text before the actual diff, explaining what this patch hopes to
achieve.

There's a sample of one such file attached to the bottom of this
message, in case I haven't managed to explain myself clearly.

I'd like to know how the PortsMeisters feel about my doing this for
ports submissions. The gain is that users and future tinkers alike will
be able to see, at a glance, what a patch is supposed to do. The loss is
in disk space.

What's the verdict?

Ciao,
Sheldon.
