As for the "bad display name" error, I'd first suspect that
something's not resolving correctly.  Do you have your hostname
set in /etc/hosts also?  X needs to know where
"iqast.hsd1.ga.comcast.net" is ... AFAIK, you could set that to
127.0.0.1, if that's what you really want to name your machine.
However, since you got that name via DHCP, I'd think it might
be something changeable...anyways, do some looking around
to see if your machine can "find itself" (e.g. ping your hostname,
etc.)

As for the best way to install the man pages, you'd probably
be OK to start sysinstall again, go to the Post-installation
configuration menu, and then IIRC "select additional distribution
sets" or somesuch.  The docs should be there, and it'll get you
the other stuff (like the handbook) that can be of great help
in your development as a FreeBSD user....
