so it's definitly mod_ssl. i would try to checkout the latest
version of the ports collection, take a backup of the
installation, pkg_delete apache and reinstall everything.

if this doesn't help try to compile apache + mod_ssl manually.=20

is /usr/ports/security/openssl installed on your maschine?
