  But the Legato server is not available for FreeBSD.

  If you have only a moderate amount of data to backup, you might as well
just backup to other cheaper disks.  I setup an NFS server with 4 x 8.4GB
IDE drives just for backups.  The disks are slow and unreliable by disk
standards, but fast and reliable by tape standards.
