The sound code is in flux right now.  There should be some notes in LINT
about it.  Otherwise check the multimedia list archives.

How about an entire website:

http://www.freebsd.org/

The tutorials are pretty close to the spirit of Howtos but the handbook
and FAQ are the definitive references.
