I think that's a Compaq problem.
Compaq sucks...
I have 72 megs of RAM, had 24, and GENERIC never saw more than 16.  Heck,
I have 2 empty SIMM slots, and a few SIMMS, so I *COULD* have 80 megs of
ram if the motherboard didn't die at about 75 reliable.
