Hi guys well I have re installed the whole system, and I am back to the same spot with the same thing happening I do have an error that I have seen at some other time, when I type just kfm or kde I see an error /usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1 Shared object "libjpeg.so.9" not found libjpeg.so.9 has turned up in other errors very early in the piece as well, so maybe I have a damaged package here? what do you all think ? I am going to try and investigate this and find what .tar.gz file it comes in, then can try downloading and manually unpacking it .... I will await some further advice before chopping into things too much, in case its a common thing The X server is running, and was before, I have all the KDE menus (similar to ifw95 menu's) only thing is when you click on them nothing opens ie click the file manager = nothing , click console = nothing, but all the menus are there and navigateable.....make sense ? This is killing me.....
