Yacc in our tree hasn't been touched for quite awhile aside from the
recent -o addition.  Is Robert Corbett actively maintaining yacc and if so
how far out of sync are we?

I was browsing the source and noticed transitive closure routines in it.

Kinda figures doesn't it?  ;-)
