oops, i just reread the rest of the context and noted that you guys have
actually had *working* systems at one point.

so, either the FreeBSD SMP code has improved to the point that it is now
inspring the cpus to emit the contentious instructions, or the driver has
improved enuf to actually notice and 'correctly' route the instructions
into the card.

read commit log for SMP and newpcm?
