You ought to be able to get two 10Base-T (and likely 100Base-TX) ethernet hosts to talk to each other if you build a "null" or "cross-over" cable to connect the two together. The wires in question are: 1 & 2 (one pair) 3 & 6 (the other pair) which should be swapped on the other connector. That is 1&2 should be wired to 3&6 on the other connector, and vice-versa. louie
