If you'd read the archives you'd see that polling mode and sony laptops
don't agree. Set an interrupt for it.

  touch /boot/loader.conf 
  echo 'machdep.pccard.pcic_irq="10"' >> /boot/loader.conf 

Should do it, and/or rebuild your kernel and specify the irq for pcic0.
