They both install dovecot with the same files hense the error message They install files into the same place. first method : # pkg_delete dovecot-1.2.17 or pkg delete dovecot-1.2.17 if you use pkgng # cd /usr/ports/mail/dovecot2 # make install clean second method needs portmaster . # portmaster -o mail/dovecot2 mail/dovecot This will deinstall dovecot and reinstall dovecot2 Be aware that dovecot 2.x differs a lot from dovecot 1.x, so be prepared to update the config files. So do not think you will be done within 10 minutes. regards Johan
