There is a linux scanner project which lots of info:
 http://www.azstarnet.com/~axplinux/sane/

The group is really into spreading their code into different OSes
so is okay to ask them for info on scanners.


Sane seems to work on my FreeBSD box with my UMAX scsi scanner.
