I hate to see the performance numbers on this drive :( I'd use a 3x4GB array myself. In response to your question, any LBA/EIDE controller should drive it. You'll need to use FreeBSD-CURRENT (and maybe stable) to get the LBA patches so you can acces the entire disk -- otherwise you're limited to 8GB.
