You need to upgrade the firmware on these drives.

Get http://www.freebsd.org/~msmith/firmware/micropolis_tomahawk.tar.gz.

You will need to boot DOS or some other system that can provide you 
with ASPI drivers - you can get the Adaptec drivers from their website.
