I was sort of wondering the same thing myself.  This one wasn't on the
list we discussed and took me (and I suspect most of core) by
surprise. :-(

I also thought we were going to wait on the sound issue until we'd
clarified how MIDI support would be brought over, but "oh well" - at
least you can never, ever complain about the quickcam driver again.
You just lost that privilege forever. :)
