This is becoming a FAQ.  Try disabling all of sio[0-3] and see if it runs.
(disabling in config; boot with /kernel -c)

Testing for sio2 or sio3 poops the card (which has control registers on same
addresses.)  You will have to recompile the kernel not to test for sio2 and 3,
even though binary patching the kernel is also an option.
