I don't see the original of this next part so I'm replying to a
reply - wjv.

A comment on that.  For years I had been trying to get a client to
take at least one backup tape home each week.  After an insurance
claim on a lighting hit - the computer survived but 4 terminals
were toast - he read his insurance policy.  He was shocked to learn
that his business interuption service would no apply to data
restoration/recovery IF HE DID NOT HAVE OFF-SITE BACKUPS.

Be sure when you are backing up to local HD's that you have ways
to recover incase they all get destroyed - or stolen.  When it
comes to data backup - just as in buying insurance policies -
cheaper is usually the worst reason for choice.
