/usr/local/etc/ssh2/sshd2_config There's also a root line in there that you'll need to change. There are two different daemons, sshd1 and sshd2, sshd1 is only ran as a fallback if the user doesn't support sshd2. Edit the sshd2 config file also to turn off root logins. Shouldn't this really be disabled by default for security reasons guys? > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG > [mailto:owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG]On Behalf Of Evren Yurtesen > Sent: December 19, 1999 4:41 PM > To: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG > Subject: sshd and root login problem! > > > I have insstalled sshd2 from ports and I have this > line in my /usr/local/etc/sshd_config file > > PermitRootLogin no > > but still I am able to login with root account with root's > password. am I missing something? > > thanks! > Evren > To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
