What i'm getting stuck at is that /dev/dsp won't open for
both reading for some reason

$ cat < /dev/sndstat 
FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm) Aug 23 2000 22:18:25
Installed devices:
pcm0: <CS423x> at io 0x534 irq 5 drq 1:0 (1p/1r channels duplex)

I'm using FreeBSD 4.1-RELEASE
