>Note that this does only happen when using the (default) NFSv3 >protocol. If you mount NFSv2 (-o vers=2), the rm -rf works okay. NFSv2 is the default for FreeBSD clients. Perhaps the foreign clients have too much trust that NFSv3 actually works on a FreeBSD server :-). However, I have few problems with /usr NFSv3-mounted on FreeBSD clients from a FreeBSD server. Bruce
