Are you not reading the same conversation I am?  The direct
implication of the statement to which I was responding was
that the sanctions were tolerable, from the point of view of
the people of Iraq.  This follows from their tolerance of
them.

I don't agree with your conclusions here, but if I did, then
it would only support the argument that the sanctions are a
burden they are prepared to bear.
