   I've run into that with Solaris as well.  At least in the case of
   Solaris it is not a problem specific to FreeBSD, since I was connecting
   from a Linux client.

Just fyi, I do ssh Freebsd to solaris frequently and haven't noticed
any hanging. Just checked and the freebsd ssh did not stay present
after I logged off the remote solaris session.
