no.

you should make sure you have the source in /usr/src that should reduce
the time it takes up update...

you should use the file:
/usr/share/examples/cvsup/stable-supfile

and:
/usr/share/examples/cvsup/ports-supfile

to update your system, copy them to another directory and change:
*default host=CHANGE_THIS.FreeBSD.org
to one of the cvsup mirrors:
*default host=cvsup5.FreeBSD.org

Alternately you may want to just:

pkg_add ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/CVSup/cvsupit.tgz

that will walk you through it.

I expect that the upgrade of source from 3.1 to 3.2-stable 
won't tkae all that long, perhaps an hour at worst?
