There is no need for an off64_t on FreeBSD.  The program should use
off_t instead, and on Linux, they should add the compiler flags
"-D_LARGEFILE_SOURCE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64" so that off_t is 64 bits
on Linux as well.
