This is normal.  The Xft-2.1.2 listing is because that's the version
currently in the ports collection (it was recently upgraded).  However
the most recent package built depends on 2.1_8, because that's what
was there at the time the package built.  And since the older
Xft-2.1_7 is what you have installed on your machine, pkg_add warns
about it when you add the package.
