I just installed the Maxtor ata100 PCI controller
card. I noticed on the card it said "Promise"; so a
Maxtor card is a Promise card.

It installed ok and it found it during boot-up except
for one problem. It haults because it can't mount to
/.

How do I fix this??? Nothing I type at the mountroot>
prompt does anything. I can even ls and see the
directory listing.

I searched the archives and a few people asked the
same questions with minimal response. I know there is
an answer.

Thanks for any input.
