The following reply was made to PR amd64/116977; it has been noted by GNATS. From: John Merryweather Cooper <j.m.cooper@borgsdemons.com> To: bug-followup@FreeBSD.org, esarade@gmail.com Cc: Subject: Re: amd64/116977: FreeBSD/amd64 - Fails to boot on HP Pavilion dv9030ea Date: Mon, 22 Oct 2007 22:39:48 -0700 I have an HP Pavillion dv9000 (dv9420us). I have a similar experience, but I've also found a work-around. If, when the the BIOS Splash screen is just about to disappear, one starts pressing <spacebar>, then the boot slice prompt comes up. Press <enter> and the laptop boots normally. It's a big hassle, but it works. jmc
