This reminds me...  I was interested in writing a new login(1) for a
stone-aged ESIX SVR3.2 yesterday.  Don't ask me how many external
function and variable declarations i had to put up into my source
manually. =:-)

The bottom line is, these old Unices were rather easy to handle. :)
A full login(1) replacement took about 3 hours, resulting in a 200-line
C file.
