--a8Wt8u1KmwUX3Y2C Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable scott- after additional trials, i've found that my server takes on average 10-15 m= inutes to boot with 2 mylex extremeraid controllers attached. 1 controller = has 1 disk array on it, the other has 2. itz not unbearably long to wait i = guess but i just don't understand why it should take several minutes when t= he same controllers and disks initialize with the driver under linux in aro= und 30 seconds. while labeling the disks i've seen the following messages: (da5:mly1:4:1:0): SYNCHRONIZE CACHE. CDB: 35 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0=20 (da5:mly1:4:1:0): error code 0 (da4:mly1:4:0:0): SYNCHRONIZE CACHE. CDB: 35 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0=20 (da4:mly1:4:0:0): error code 0 (da5:mly1:4:1:0): SYNCHRONIZE CACHE. CDB: 35 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0=20 (da5:mly1:4:1:0): error code 0 could this be due to disk arrays that aren't yet initialized? is it possibl= e to run background initialization with this driver while the operating sys= tem is running? again... i'm running fbsd 4.7 release on x86. -kelley --=20 >> kelley j eicher << UNIX architect >> Univ. of MN Astronomy Dept. << ph: (612) 626-2067 or (612) 624-3589 >> fx: (612) 626-2029 << office: 385 physics >> carde at astro dot umn dot edu --a8Wt8u1KmwUX3Y2C Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.2 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE+OAXAF3O5KT+A1xQRAoR3AJsGfTCce65xjhwAllyP7jmNl4CNNwCePkN8 YLSvRDaNOUO33c57c3CaoM0= =sCj9 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --a8Wt8u1KmwUX3Y2C-- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-scsi" in the body of the message
