While playing around with the fixit option (which I stupidly didn't know actually worked on one of the CDs without having a floppy image) I found that I could mount /dev/da0a (the / slice) just fine and /boot/loader was there. Everything looked fine from what I could tell. I ended up running `bsdlabel -B /dev/da0` from the fixit prompt and then attempting to reboot using the harddrive. This actually worked and now I have FreeBSD-5.3 up and running for the first time ever on my Miata/PWS 433au I figured I would post my findings for anyone else that may have this issue.
