I'm working on some of scripts that might help.
The script will list and shutdown un-used ports via webpage.
Of course, via a webpage, it is a security hazard, but 
it will be intended as an aid, NOT a tool.
email me if you are interested, otherwise I'll 
post a listing of the tools later this weekend.
