Ah... I think this is related to having an MBR partitioning and not
a GPT partitioning. The GPT partition support is only present in
5.2 (probably also the latest snapshot).

The installer formats the EFI partition.

We currently have a combination of problems that result in this. There's
not much I can do about it now, but I expect that it's better after 5.2.
